Site Nouveau provides services for 3,500 s/f Hartford Prints store

Hartford, CT Hartford Prints! celebrated its grand reopening on September 26, 2025 at 42.5 Pratt St., showcasing an architectural transformation designed by Josye Utick, AIA, principal of Site Nouveau. The renovation, which nearly triples the shop’s footprint to over 3,500 s/f, represents a collaboration between two women-owned businesses and demonstrates the impact of thoughtful design on downtown revitalization.
The gut renovation expanded into adjacent spaces, raised ceilings, and incorporated contemporary materials that respect the city’s architectural heritage while accommodating the shop’s expanded product lines.
“Having worked on landmark projects around the world, I can say that this Hartford Prints! renovation represents something truly special,” said Utick, who chairs the Hartford Planning & Zoning Commission and brings 20 years of international architecture experience to the project. “This project allowed us to honor Hartford’s historic character while creating a contemporary space that will serve the community for decades to come.”

“The Hartford Prints! expansion beautifully showcases the power of women entrepreneurs working together to revitalize our communities,” said lieutenant governor Susan Bysiewicz. “When we see two women-owned businesses like Hartford Prints! and Site Nouveau collaborating to transform downtown Hartford, we’re witnessing the kind of partnership that drives economic growth.”
“Rory and I share a deep love for this city and a belief in thoughtful design’s power to strengthen communities,” said Utick. “This project demonstrates what’s possible when strategic public investment meets committed local expertise.”
