Westwood, MA J. Calnan & Associates, Inc. (JC&A), a leading construction management firm in the Northeast specializing in world-class preconstruction services and challenging construction projects, is making progress on the new “Progressive Graduation Labs” at Labs@128 Station.

Poised to offer move-in ready BSL2 lab suites ranging from 5,000 to 165,000 s/f, all within a singular facility, JC&A is playing a pivotal role in Lightstone Life Sciences’ innovative response to the workspace challenges faced by the biotech industry.

The recent unveiling of this concept at Labs@128 Station marked a transformative moment for the industry. The first-generation lab space suites are set to revolutionize the sector by addressing the critical issue of Biotech’s workspace constraints. These progressive graduation labs are designed to seamlessly accommodate growth, eliminating the traditional limitations associated with lab setup.

JC&A, along with Newmark, Ci Design, and Jaros, Baum & Bolles, joined an exclusive grand opening preview hosted by Lightstone Life Sciences, showcasing the move-in ready, first-generation lab space suites. The preview featured 1980 Miracle on Ice Goalie, Jim Craig, who shared his incredible journey, “Path to the Podium,” an inspirational story about the power of determination and perseverance. Following the speech, attendees had the opportunity to network with fellow biotech professionals and embark on guided tours of the labs.

“Labs@128 Station is proud to offer the lowest total cost of occupancy in the world’s largest lab cluster, providing the ideal environment to nurture biotech innovations,” said Bill Hunter of Lightstone Life Sciences. Emphasizing the collaborative spirit, he said, “Our strong history of collaboration with J. Calnan & Associates (JC&A) is integral to the success of this groundbreaking, state-of-the-art speculative progressive graduation research building. JC&A’s life sciences team plays a crucial role as an invaluable partner, contributing significantly to the realization of this visionary project.”

The team is set to deliver the final space in Q1 2024.
