Kenny joins Howard Stein Hudson as environmental services leader

Jessica Kenny

Boston, MA Howard Stein Hudson (HSH) has hired Jessica Kenny as environmental services leader, bringing more than two decades of expertise from her tenure at MassDOT’s Highway Division.

Kenny’s roles as director of environmental compliance and director of environmental services at MassDOT have given her a wealth of experience in environmental permitting and compliance, as well as strong relationships with regulatory agencies and MassDOT staff. Her experience and relationships will further enhance HSH’s ability to deliver seamless and efficient environmental solutions for our clients.

In her role at MassDOT, Kenny managed environmental permitting for several iconic bridge projects: the Longfellow Bridge, Whittier Bridge, Fore River Bridge, and the I-495 Bridges in Haverhill. Her proven ability to navigate complex environmental regulations and streamline collaboration among stakeholders underscore her value to our clients.

“We are delighted to welcome Jess to our team! Jess’s leadership and expertise across all facets of environmental permitting will further strengthen and enhance our ability to deliver important projects throughout the region,” said Tom Stokes, chief executive officer.

At HSH, Kenny will lead and expand our environmental services group, focusing on environmental planning, permitting, compliance, and post-construction monitoring.

She specializes in strategies for large-scale, linear construction projects and brings deep expertise in critical areas such as stormwater management, resiliency, sustainability, and regulatory compliance under MEPA/NEPA guidelines. Her leadership will further strengthen HSH’s ability to deliver practical and sustainable project solutions.

As we look to the future, Kenny’s leadership will play a pivotal role in building upon HSH’s legacy of simplifying complexities and keeping projects on track. We are excited to have Jessica on board and look forward to the significant contributions she will make to HSH’s continued success.
