Charles Construction finishes
Kimley-Horn’s new headquarters

Waltham, MA Charles Construction Company Inc., has completed the new 10,000 s/f headquarters for Kimley-Horn. Delivered ahead of schedule on an accelerated 12-week timeline, the project showcases high-quality craftsmanship and thoughtful design, supporting Kimley-Horn’s continued growth in the Greater Boston area.

Kimley-Horn, a nationally recognized planning and design consulting firm, sought a modern office that would enhance collaboration, support employee well-being, and provide flexibility for future expansion. Working alongside the DLR Group, MEA Engineering Associates, and other project partners, Charles Construction executed a full interior fit-out, transforming the space into a dynamic and functional workplace. The new office features three conference rooms, eleven private offices, thirty-five independent workstations, a production room, a mother’s room, breakout spaces, and a welcoming reception area.

The fast-track nature of the project presented a unique challenge, but through strategic planning, close coordination with stakeholders, and a commitment to efficiency, Charles Construction delivered the project ahead of schedule without compromising quality. The scope of work included the installation of modern finishes and furnishings that align with Kimley-Horn’s brand identity. A striking custom glass wall system was incorporated into private offices and conference rooms, enhancing transparency and natural light. Advanced lighting solutions further contribute to a bright and productive work environment.

The success of the project was made possible through strong collaboration with Kimley-Horn, led by Chelsea Kelcher and Patrick Dwyer, along with architect DLR Group, MEA Engineering Associates, Business Interiors for glazing systems, and Hitouch Business Services for furniture solutions. The building is owned by Duffy Properties.

With this new space, Kimley-Horn now has a headquarters designed to support its operations, foster teamwork, and accommodate future growth in the region. The thoughtful layout and elevated finishes reflect the company’s commitment to innovation and efficiency, creating an environment that inspires both employees and clients.

Reflecting on the project, a representative from Charles Construction stated, “Delivering this project ahead of schedule while maintaining high-quality craftsmanship was a testament to the collaboration between our team, Kimley-Horn, and our project partners. This new office space not only reflects Kimley-Horn’s culture and operational needs but also provides the flexibility they need to grow in the Greater Boston area. We’re proud to have played a role in bringing their vision to life.”

As Charles Construction celebrates its 70th anniversary, the completion of Kimley-Horn’s headquarters is another milestone in the company’s legacy of excellence in commercial construction. With a strong track record of delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget, Charles Construction continues to shape the commercial real estate landscape in New England.
