BOMA update: Property Mgmt. Excellence roundtable, BOMA ski trip and education

Boston, MA Join BOMA for their first roundtable of 2024, Property Management Excellence featuring 2024 TOBY & Industry award winners! This roundtable will take place on Thursday, January 30th from 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Jennifer Christakes, 2025 BOMA Boston president with JLL will be moderating the program and the 2024 TOBY & Industry winners participating on the panel include will be announced soon. They will share stories and insights about how to maximize building efficiency and how to run a cohesive team. They will also share property management tips and tricks, their roles in their properties and teams, and what their careers have looked like in property/facilities management. BOMI: Ethics is Good Business will be held on Friday, January 31st, 2025, at 3 Center Plaza, Boston, from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. with instructor Mark Giampa, director of property management, Related Beal. Ethics is Good Business ShortCourse will provide you with the tools to make sound ethical decisions. As you will discover, the information in this coursebook provides a framework for analyzing and responding to ethical problems. During this ShortCourse, you will read passages that reinforce the key concepts and issues presented. You will also encounter specific case studies that illustrate the need for you to have a firm ethical foundation for the decisions you will make. BOMI: Design, Operation, and Maintenance of Building Systems, Part I will take place on Tuesdays and  Thursdays starting on February 4th and concluding on February 27th virtually via Zoom from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m with instructor David Thompson, director of engineering, Newmark. This course will focus on understanding the intentional design and construction of buildings and how they function daily is a primary need in property and facilities management. The two-part Design, Operation, and Maintenance of Building Systems course are designed to equip property and facilities managers with the well-rounded background needed to excel in the industry. In Part I of this series, you will learn about building design, construction considerations, structural systems, and air and water distribution systems. The updated edition offers new materials and systems throughout and an improved learning experience. You will have the opportunities to become acquainted with contemporary advances in the industry including energy benchmarking, efficient design, automated building systems, building filtration, efficiency credits, and improved sewer systems. You will also find discussion of the pros and cons of new materials to help inform your future decision making, including purple board, digital hygrometers, electric HVAC solutions, and CPCV. Connect With BOMA Breakfast will take place on Thursday, February 13th at Chrome Gym at 1 Center Plaza, Boston from 9:00am - 10:30am. The Connect with BOMA Breakfast is designed for current, new and prospective members to learn more about committee involvement, networking & engagement opportunities, education and events in an informal networking setting. Learn how to get the most of your BOMA membership and get involved! Various BOMA Staff, Board of Directors, and Committee Chairs will be on site to answer any questions you might have regarding your membership. 

On Friday, February 14th BOMA Boston is hosting their Annual Ski Trip at Loon Mountain! Hit the slopes with an all-day ski lift ticket or an activity pass, including snowshoeing, tubing, skating, zip lining, and cross-country skiing! BOMA Foundations of Real Estate Management will be held on Friday’s starting on February 28th and will end on March 28th. The course will be held in person at the BOMA Boston Office, Three Center Plaza, Mezzanine Suite Boston, from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Foundations is a comprehensive, 5-day, 35-htheir entry level course covering the fundamentals of commercial real estate accompanies by four building tour. BOMA’s partnership with BOMI International remains strong.
